PROFESSIONAL REGULATIONS

The following professional regulations apply:

• Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung (BRAO)
• Berufsordnung für Rechtsanwälte (BORA)
• Fachanwaltsordnung (FAO)
• Gesetz über die Vergütung der Rechtsanwältinnen und Rechtsanwälte (RVG)
• Berufsregeln der Rechtsanwälte der Europäischen Gemeinschaft
• Gesetz über die Tätigkeit europäischer Rechtsanwälte in Deutschland

PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY INSURANCE

Professional indemnity insurance is held with ERGO Versicherung AG.

It satisfies or exceeds the requirements of the applicable professional regulations for lawyers listed above.

Territorial scope: 

• Exclusions
• Claims of liability with foreign implications
• The insurance coverage excludes claims of liability from activities a) through law practices or offices established or maintained in other nations, b) in connection with the consultancy and work with non-European law, c) of the lawyer practicing before non-European courts.

EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS

Emails sent by us are intended exclusively for the indicated recipient. Their content is confidential and part of the legally privileged communication between lawyer and client. Please note that any form of notice, publication, reproduction or transfer of the content of such emails is prohibited without prior approval by the sender. Should you not be the designated recipient, please notify the sender of the email immediately.

For technical and/ or operational reasons, the reception of email communications might be interrupted and/or delayed. Therefore, sending us email communications has no effect on the observance of deadlines and cannot set legally binding deadlines. We recommend sending time-sensitive or urgent messages additionally via postal or courier service or fax. If you want to be sure your email has been received properly, please request a written confirmation of receipt from the recipient.

We take all reasonable precautionary measures to prevent the risk of transmitting computer viruses. However, we are not liable for any damage caused by computer viruses. Please conduct appropriate tests for computer viruses before reading emails and especially before opening attachments.

The communication via email is unsafe due to the possibility of notice and manipulation by third parties. Therefore, we recommend that you not send any confidential information via email without encryption. Please notify your contact person immediately, should you or your employer not wish for email communication between lawyer and client.

If you wish to send us encrypted emails, we are happy to share our public key. You will need a PGP encryption software (e.g. PGP or GnuPG). If you wish to receive encrypted emails from us, please also share your public key with us at the same time.
