BPO: First take over the tasks, now also the personnel

Author: Dr. Ernst Georg Berger, Attorney at Law and CEO

When times get tougher, companies focus on their core competencies and tasks. Everything else is up for discussion. As a law firm specializing in legal outsourcing, we notice this. We relieve our clients of certain legal tasks such as data protection or contract negotiations. What is new: We are increasingly being asked whether we want to take on the staff along with the tasks. Do we want to? Of course we do.

As Clarius.Legal, we have thus reached a new level of business process outsourcing (BPO). This refers to the outsourcing of certain business processes to external service providers so that companies can concentrate on their own core tasks. Many companies have been delegating their IT support for many years, and payroll accounting and logistics are also often outsourced. And Clarius.Legal successfully demonstrates how legal outsourcing can also increase a company’s efficiency.

Saving time and costs for our clients

Efficiency is important because the German economy is currently in a prolonged crisis. In 2023, the (price-adjusted) gross domestic product fell by 0.3% and is also stagnating this year. The Ifo Institute, for example, is only predicting cautious growth of 0.9% and 1.5% for the next two years. Companies are being correspondingly cautious. They are on the lookout for ways to reduce their costs. This is where Clarius.legal comes into play – and the positive experiences that companies have had with our expertise:

Routine tasks such as checking NDAs or contracts can be outsourced.

We can be called in temporarily to cushion peaks in the workload.

And we step in as interim staff, for example to cover parental leave or for specific projects.

Clarius.Legal uses specialized software tools to complete routine and regulatory tasks in the most standardized way possible. This use of “legal tech” saves time and costs – to the benefit of our clients.

With the tasks come the personnel

Thanks to these positive experiences with Clarius.Legal, we are now also becoming a point of contact for companies that are planning more than just outsourcing legal tasks. We are seeing more and more clients asking us to take on tasks including personnel. The advantages for the client are clear:

The company can concentrate more on its core business, including the tasks of its own staff.

Fewer specialized experts are needed in-house, which means that personnel costs can be reduced.

As a BPO service provider, Clarius.Legal increases the efficiency of legal processes and at the same time guarantees compliance with all standards.

The challenge for Clarius.Legal is to train the new employees so that they can also use legal tech software efficiently. We are happy to take on this challenge. Especially as we experience how visibly our new employees blossom when they can work more productively. Achieving valid results efficiently and cost-effectively is and remains Clarius.Legal’s mission.

Focus on what is really important

“Outsource the work that keeps you from working”: Why should highly trained and well-paid specialists work on standard tasks that can be easily outsourced? Legal outsourcing is an attractive option for companies that want to use their legal department as efficiently as possible. Clarius.Legal will take care of the rest of the tasks – and, if desired, will also provide the necessary personnel.
